Heading to Dubai for your next vacation? Here 7 of our most unforgettable experiences to help you get started!

1.     View Dubai From The Highest Observation Deck In The World At The Burj Khalifa

The Burj KhalifaFor me, the Burj Khalifa is a representation of what Dubai stands for. Pushing boundaries and literally rising from the sand while defying all odds and breaking many records along the way. At 828 metres, the Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building. Take in the breathtaking views from the observation deck on Level 148 – At The Top, is the highest in the world at 555 meters! Level 125 – A Falcon’s Eye View also gives visitors a unique perspective of Dubai.

The Burj Khalifa is one huge building full of TV screens essentially so if you’re there at the right time in the evening, you’ll see a sick display on the outside of the building. That made me happy without having to spend the money to go in!

One of the best times to visit would be for the New Year’s Eve celebrations to watch the amazing fireworks.

For further information and for the show schedule, visit The Burj Khalifa

2.     Dine 50 Meters In The Sky With Dinner In The Sky – If You Dare!

Another personal favourite, there is a novelty about dining 50 meters in the sky! This merges two of my favourites things, great food with amazing views. There is no greater feeling than having your feet dangle while having a 360-degree view of Dubai.

Tip: Be sure to check Groupon.AE for discounts!

For further information, visit Dinner In The Sky.

3.     Take A Day Tour To Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi (the capital city of the UAE) is quite different when compared to Dubai. Dubai is flashy and extreme while Abu Dhabi is quiet and conservative – which captivates and draws you in. While in Dubai, take a day trip to Abu Dhabi to experience the best of both worlds.

While in Abu Dhabi, there are a few things to see and do such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which would blow you away by its majesticness. You can also drive by The Presidential Palace as well as Etihad Towers, one of the most iconic Fast and Furious 7 filming locations as well as Emirates Palace, another filming location for the Fast and Furious Franchise. Clearly, I’m a Fast and Furious fan!

If you have the chance, be sure to make a stop at the Marina Mall, Yas Marina Circuit & Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Dates Market!

Tip: Ladies would be given a full length hooded robe at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque if you are not appropriately dressed, so don’t worry too much about what you’re wearing – they’ll let you know if you need a robe or not! Also, if you had an option, visit the mosque on Saturday rather than Friday as the former is less crowded.

For further information, visit Abu Dhabi.

4.     Take A Trip Through Alice’s Wonderland Via The Dubai Miracle Garden

The world’s largest natural flower garden, you’ll be in awe from the moment you enter the gates. With heart and butterfly shaped pathways, gigantic clocks, a humongous Airbus A380 made entirely from flowers and so much more, this is what makes Dubai, Dubai – how the Emiratis create monuments from the middle of the desert.

This garden is not only a wonder, but it is also something straight from Alice In Wonderland.

PS: The Miracle Garden is also home to the world’s largest indoor butterfly garden – the home of more than 15,000 butterflies.

For further information, visit The Dubai Miracle Garden.

5.     Journey to The Past Via The Dubai Creek

The Dubai Creek is the heart of Dubai as this is where the Bani Yas tribe settled, grew and thrived due to its rich reserve filled with pearls as well as a strong fish economy. Now referred to as Old Dubai or The Real Dubai, you’ll get lost in history and awe of how a country which originally started along the creek, has now grown from the sand (literally), into the empire that it is today.

Be sure to visit the Dubai Museum as well as the gold, spice and textile souks. When in Rome, you must do as the Romans do, therefore while in Old Dubai, you must take a ride across the Dubai Creek via the traditional abra, it’s only 1 AED for an unforgettable experience!

6.     Have Your Breath Taken Away At The Dubai Fountain

The Dubai Fountain (in case you never heard), is a fountain within the 30-acre Burj Khalifa Lake, which is choreographed to traditional Arabic as well as modern pop music. This without a doubt is a must see – not only is this fountain incredibly beautiful (both during the day and at night) but the fountain can also shoot water as high as 500 feet!

There are a few ways to catch a glimpse of the fountain show:

You can find a space surrounding the fountain, there is ample space but it can get crowded at times. Or, you can also find a store which overlooks the fountain. This option is completely free of charge!

You can also view the show from a floating viewing platform – The Dubai Fountain Boardwalk. You’ll get so close that you may get sprayed by the water depending on where you sit but that’s really all apart of the experience! The cost is 20 AED from their booth – The Dubai Fountain Abra Tickets counter along the Waterfront Promenade, or alternatively, you can get a ticket from Groupon.AE which cost 15 AED.

Steven actually proposed at this exact location, if you didn’t get a chance to read about how Steven proposed, check it out here!

Lastly, you can take a lake ride in a traditional Abra ride for another up-close view of the fountains. The cost is 68.25 AED with sailing times during the hours of 5:45pm – 10:45pm.

For further information and for the show schedule, visit The Dubai Mall.

7.     Experience The Dubai Desert Safari

The Emirates is a multifaceted country and Dubai is no different. Experience the original tourist attraction of Dubai by taking a journey to the Arabian Desert. An all-inclusive experience, you’ll have the chance to take part in an adrenaline-pumping dune bashing followed by camel rides, quad biking and sandboarding before experiencing a traditional barbeque featuring live entertainment and henna painting.

To be honest, all of the action happens in the desert!

Tip: Be sure to research which tour company works for you. We booked our experience with “Luxury Tours” as we purchased a group ticket from Groupon.AE.
