‘Hyatt Regency Trinidad’ | Hotel Review

For those who know Steven and myself, we simply love and adore Airbnbs. Truth be told, I’ve always enjoyed the self sustained Airbnb setup compared to the “dependent” nature of a hotel room.

Hyatt Regency Trinidad

But this time around was different, Steven travelled to Trinidad and Tobago for ‘The CCCU – Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions’. Being me, I jumped on a plane to accompany Steven to Trinidad – duh. After all, it was only for a weekend and the flights weren’t ridiculously expensive. Therefore, there was really no reason for Steven to go without me and boy was I glad that I did!

Firstly, the host was amazing. When we emerged from the departure gates, entertainment was awaiting to show the true culture and festive spirit of Trinidad. Picture this for a moment – ladies in carnival costumes, smiling faces, soca music playing with the sweet melody of a steel pan in the background. They certainly pulled out all of the stops and I’m sure Steven’s organization was touched – shoot, I was!

So let’s give a run down of the service:

Reception

On arriving at The Hyatt Regency, we were greeted with a champagne welcome from lovely front desk staff – very polite yet professional and warm. The reception is also available 24 hours a day and features valet parking.

Dining

This by far was the best part of our trip – our dining experiences made the trip! You see, it rained all weekend, therefore it was more practical and definitely very convienent to have a numerious amount of dining options. The Hyatt features 5 amazing dining options: The Waterfront which features scrumptious Caribbean delights as well as international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Having such an amazing restaurant which did an amazing buffet spread, encouraged me to wake up each morning at the crack of dawn – I was always excited to start my morning with a great breakfast!

The Hyatt also features a Sushi Bar featuring a wide selection of sushi favorites, The Lobby Lounge where you can enjoy small bites with an amazing cocktail menu. Live entertainment is also available from Thursdays to Sundays. Cinnamon houses a wide variety of specialty coffees, smoothies and homemade pastries and is opened 24 hours a day. Lastly, the Infinity Pool Bar allows you to relax and take in the sun as well as the waterfront views while indulging in cocktails and lite bites.

Room

With daily room cleaning, our King Bed room (with city view) was always immaculate and comfortable. It rained for most of the trip and I actually had a ball catching up on sleep and TV while Steven was away at the workshops. Usually we are known for doing as much as possible in 4 days but, we were spent. I recently changed jobs and we went to St. Vincent as well as Dubai all within the space of a few weeks – so believe it or not, we were tired! So, with the free Wi-Fi, we hooked up our Netflix to the 65″ LCD TV and really relaxed. Even a gamer would be appreciative.

The rooms are also feature deluxe bath amenties which are replenished daily, bathrobe and slippers, in- room safe, individual thermostat, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, iHome stearo with iPod docking station.

Ambience

The Hyatt Regency Trinidad features a stylish yet sophisticated atmosphere making it the ultimate getaway as well as the perfect location for a conference/meeting.

The Hyatt brand is synomymous with quality and sophistication, therefore a stay at the hotel may be quite expensive, but it would be unlike anything you’ve every experienced!
